Custom domain names for hosted stores are available on our Starter Plan and above
Connecting your own domain to a Shoprocket hosted store gives your business a professional and consistent look. Plus, with Shoprocket, you can rest easy knowing that we generate, provide, and manage SSL certificates for custom domain names on hosted stores automatically on our Starter Plan and above.
Here's a step-by-step guide on how to connect your domain to your hosted store.
Step 1: Navigate to General Settings
Log into your Shoprocket dashboard and navigate to "Sales Channels" -> "Hosted Store" -> "General Settings".
Step 2: Connect Your Domain
In the General Settings section, click on the "Connect domain" button. This will open a chat window that will guide you through the setup.
Step 3: Provide Your Domain Name
During the chat, you will be asked to provide the domain name you'd like to use for your hosted store. If you're already using the root domain name (e.g., my-site.com) for your main website, we recommend using a subdomain for your hosted store (e.g., shop.my-site.com).
Step 4: Create a DNS CNAME
After providing your domain name, you'll need to create a DNS CNAME record in your domain's DNS settings. This DNS record should point your domain or subdomain to custom.shoprocket.io.
Please note that the process to create a DNS CNAME record varies depending on your domain registrar. If you're not sure how to do this, it's best to contact your domain registrar's support for help.
Step 5: Verification and Activation
Once you've set up the DNS CNAME record, notify us in the chat. One of our team members will verify the setup and update you once it's ready.
And there you have it! You've successfully connected your own domain to your Shoprocket hosted store. This will not only make your online store look more professional, but it also helps boost customer trust by providing a secure shopping experience. Happy selling!
