How to Pause or Close Your Shoprocket Store

Updated on 06th December 2023 in Your Stores

In this guide, we explain the  process of pausing or closing your Shoprocket store. Pausing your store temporarily hides all store elements, displaying a customisable maintenance message to your visitors. This action does not affect your subscription, and you can easily resume your store's operations whenever you're ready.

On the other hand, closing your store is a permanent action. It leads to the deletion of your store and all associated data, and it also cancels any active subscriptions. However, closing your store does not impact any user accounts linked to it. If you wish to pause your subscription instead of your store, you can do so under 'Settings' → 'Billing'.

This guide ensures you have all the necessary information to either pause or close your store, depending on your needs.

Pausing Your Shoprocket Store

  1. Log in to Your Dashboard

    • Begin by logging into your Shoprocket dashboard. This is your control centre for all Shoprocket store operations.
  2. Navigate to Pause Settings

    • Once logged in, go to the 'Settings' menu. Here, you'll find an option labelled 'Pause or Close'. Click on this to proceed.
  3. Choose to Pause Your Store

    • In the 'Pause or Close' section, you'll see two options: 'Pause' and 'Close'. Select 'Pause' to temporarily disable your store.
    • Pausing your store will hide all store elements from view. Instead, visitors will see a message stating, "The store is currently offline for maintenance." You can customise this message in the 'Text Translations' section of your dashboard.
  4. Resuming Your Store

    • When you're ready to bring your store back online, simply revisit the 'Pause or Close' settings and select 'Resume'. This action will reactivate your store, making all elements visible to visitors again.
    • Please note that pausing your store does not affect your subscription in any way.

Closing Your Shoprocket Store

  1. Log in to Your Dashboard

    • Access your Shoprocket dashboard by logging in with your credentials.
  2. Navigate to Close Settings

    • Go to the 'Settings' menu and select 'Pause or Close'.
  3. Choose to Close Your Store

    • Under the 'Pause or Close' section, select the 'Close' option to permanently delete your current store and all its associated data.
    • This action will also cancel any active subscriptions. However, it will not affect any user accounts connected to the store.

Pausing Your Subscription

  • If you wish to pause your subscription instead of pausing or closing your store, you can do so via 'Settings' → 'Billing'.

Important Considerations

  • Pausing your store is a temporary measure and does not affect your subscription or billing.
  • Closing your store is a permanent action. Once you close your store, all data associated with it will be irretrievably deleted.
  • Ensure you have backed up any important data before choosing to close your store.
